The English Mother

Moments in an English Mother's Life

Mikhail Baryshnikov’s photographs of Dancers

And now for a more classical evening..
Having had a very social week ( and feeling a little tired) I wore another very comfortable number by Ilse Jacobsen- in black velvet and with a wrap around sash, it is elegant without being difficult to wear. I wore it with mikimoto pearls, Lolo & Galago earrings and bracelet, Roger Vivier shoes, Vuitton bag and loads of ‘ rouge coco’ by Chanel. That fixed me up ok. Though I do wish I’d had some thinner denier tights which would have been more in keeping with the ‘Granny’ look- in a good way!
Then off to New Bond Street to the ContiniArtUk Gallery for an exhibition dedicated to Mikhail Baryshnikov’s photographs of dancers. For thirty years Mikhail was one of the most important ballet dancers in the world.
After that we continued the evening with dinner at The Dorchester. I sat beside the stage where a small orchestra played.
And at the other side of the ballroom Mikhail occasionally got up and improvised on the grand piano.
